Baby names

This is in no way related to fashion or shopping or Glasgow or anything of that nature, but I wanted to share some of the hilarious baby name suggestions my husband and I received when people found out we were going to have a baby. This is also another shameless excuse for posting another picture of my daughter so I can say, 'see, so cute!'

Anyway, Serena, when you're old enough to read - here is what you could have been called...

My wee nephew thought we should name you:

  • Mechanical
  • Tiny
  • Ivy
  • Dynamite
  • Fur
  • Mammal-Swine
  • Charming
  • Jose
  • Cry-Cry
  • Lisa
  • Skyla
  • Buck
  • Squiggy
  • Ernie
  • X-Box
  • Smiley
  • Topal
  • Oval
  • Burpy

What I want to know is where he came up with Lisa. Seems rather prosaic compared to Buck, Topal and Mammal-Swine. I quite like Dynamite, but I want to spell it like Jimmy Walker said it: 'Dyn-o-mite!' I know that ages me, by the way.

My brother-in-law, not wanting to be outdone by his son, came up with these suggestions:

  • Vladimir
  • Darius
  • Ivan
  • Cain
  • G-Tastic
  • Buffet King (see, this works, because my husband's surname is King)
  • Prince
  • Shamima
  • Edgar
  • Afrasia
  • Brother X
  • Linus
  • Franklinstine
  • Bootsie
  • Swaggart
  • Fonzerelli
  • Jive Turkey
Serena had already been chosen before these suggestions were made, so she was safe. But if we have another, he'll be called Burpy Buck Brother X for sure.
